I mean his only hope is to find Professor Birch, a man he’s (and us) never met and man does Birch deliver. I remember Johto started out more casual which was fine, but this just already gets me invested in Ash’s new journey. The tension just increases with the news that Littleroot has no Pokemon Center. I know where her character ends up so this is good contrast to that and I’m excited to see her grow.Īs for Ash things start of tense, they do a great job showing how sick Pikachu is. I find her arc interesting, she has zero interest in pokemon which is shown in great effect when she disinterestedly tries to command a mudkip. Spoiler alert, May is Ash’s new companion. She really isn’t in the episode much until the middle and it does set her up as a main character. Turns out she doesn’t like pokemon, she’s only doing the whole trainer thing to travel. So starting off we meet May, she’s a new trainer with a secret.
It doesn’t help that while this is going on a new trainer named May has come to Professor Birch for her first pokemon. Ash will need the help of a new ally named Professor Birch to catch and cure his friend.
Pikachu is left ill after last episode which leaves our little hero running around with a fever.
